35 states, 11,000 miles and 7 weeks later.

We’re back in Washington. I wanted to sit down and write a dissertation of what we saw and experienced but it seems almost pointless. Experience is this case will be the best description.. so you should go and see it for yourself. surround  yourself with things that are unfamiliar and beautiful. It really is a gorgeous country with breathtaking scenery and landscapes that change from state to state. The people  with their varied accents are kind and welcoming. Go see it and meet them. Seriously, don’t talk yourself out of it. It isn’t something that you’ll look back on and regret.

We went on this trip with the purpose in mind of gaining closeness as a couple and getting some direction in our lives. that God would begin to put things together and into perspective for us and lead us triumphantly into the future. It seems however that he has done more disassembling than assembling. I have taught that sometimes God needs to pull down our buildings to repair or rebuild our foundations. For us it was our house, car, money and job. for you? who knows. Its quite a task trying to push out fear and anxiety (which is easier to talk or teach about that actually do) But God has shown us through the years over and over that these things shouldn’t come into play because he is God. He has our backs and yours and he knows what it is that he is doing. One thing we are sure of is that God has a plan and the fact that things have changed and are changing is a testimony to his work in our lives. He is truly giving us a fresh start, everything has changed for us. Im so thankful that we are surrounded by such a great family and friends who love, support and encourage us and it give me a great boldness to move into the future.

We don’t know what is in store for us next but if its half as amazing as what we’ve seen and witnessed in the past 7 weeks then we have everything to look forward to.

greatful to be back

the car accident and good friends

at around midnight on sunday night while driving through dallas at 70 mph we were hit from behind by a car going considerably faster than ours. our car spun around a few times before i could gain controll to pull it over to the side of the road but the other driver sped off without us being able to see his plates. both jamie and i were okay. i hit my head and was bleeding but it was nothing serious. the cops came and took us and our car to an impound lot where we took a taxi to a local hotel. in the morining our insurence dropped a rental car off for us. and we drove up to denton which was about 40 minutes north and met up with some friends (david, david, jordyn and andrew) who happened to be in town on a road trip for our friend chris pacanin’s and his soon to be wife cori’s wedding. we have since been staying at chris’ apartment with everyone and couldnt be happier. still waiting on news on how long it will take to get the aveo rolling again but we’re so thankful to not have to deal with this alone and in a strange town but that God has protected us and surrounded us with friends that love us. s

see everyone soon!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

chocolate frogs, owls, pumpkin juice, the monster book of monsters. this place was incredible. there were things moving and exploding everywhere and there’s hidden things easily looked over all around. even moaning mertyl was haunting the bathroom and the shadow of elves working in the kitchen. All of the shops from the books were included in hogs meade. I didnt get a lot of photos from inside the shops and castle because they were dark and purposely made to be crowded and small like the movies. the wand shops had boxes of wands all the way up the walls to like 20 feet. it was insane. I cant even begin to describe the inside of hogwarts except that they got it dead on. you even get to see dumbledore, harry, ron and hermoinie talk you with some crazy technology that makes it look like theyre right there. the forbidden journey of harry potter ride was probably the best thing i’ve ever been on too.

i cant even describe it anymore except to say its incredible, the attention to detail is spot on and everyone that likes harry potter should go.

yeah they moved and talked

Disney World?

Although we have very little money the prospect of passing by Disney World on our way through Florida was weighing on us. We never really talked about it for fear of dampening our great trip but i could tell everytime we tried to plot our course and came to the southeastern most part of the US it was pulled to the front of both our minds …but we knew chances were grim.

On a hunch last week I decided to give Disney World himself a call, determined and in-hopes that we have some long forgotten tickets on file from a previous trip. I said a prayer, dialed and waited, mostly in silence, on the phone for 2 hours with a polite disney cast memeber who was exhausting all of our options to chance seeing any of the parks this year when all of the sudden she said, “wait..” My head felt fuzzy and i asked her to repeat herself as she told me that we had some non-expired tickets left over from a trip in 2007. On top of that a friend is letting us use a time share in Disney at no cost.

Disney World stop? thanks Jesus.

There’s something about the east coast that makes you want to be smarter. Like i should go back to college or something. Maybe its the history that has taken place all around or how old everything is or all the ivy league schools or maybe its just the fall. I don’t know what it is exactly but i love it. it makes me feel like a philosopher. Everyone should visit up here in the fall, its incredible.
